Motorati partners with Auto Trader to bring more new sales leads to car dealers

am-online.com, 09 Dec, 2009

Clive Sutton's Motorati website, which acts as an online matchmaker between consumers and dealers, has signed a deal with Auto Trader to introduce its users to the website.

The initial stage of the partnership between Motorati and Auto Trader is a clickthrough facility within the Auto Trader's Beat the VAT rise campaign. With immediate effect visitors to the Auto Trader website's new car space will be able to use Motorati, to help them find their new car.

Motorati.co.uk, the brainchild of respected London car dealer Clive Sutton, remains an online matchmaker between consumers ready to buy a car and dealers - no cars are sold through the site itself.

Motorati is stream-lining its business model to earn a 1 per cent matchmaking fee once the deal has been made. Dealers will also have the opportunity to buy the highly qualified sales leads for a nominal price in the new year.

Motorati's multi-brand configurator only quotes manufacture list price, unlike other sites which often show generic pre-loaded discounts. Consumers can build their ideal spec and submit it to Motorati, which then relays the lead to the dealer's desktop and/or mobile. It is up to dealers to decide what discount (if any) they offer. Consumers are then able to view a comparator of requested and offered cars and seek contact with the dealers.

As well as the partnership with Auto Trader, Motorati is also being positioned within high-traffic new car websites and franchised dealers to provide intelligent communication from informed and ready to buy consumers with relevant new car dealers nationwide.

Clive Sutton commented: "Autotrader.co.uk accounts for the majority of the online space for used cars. Following their recent extensive renewal of the website, their offering is a key online venue for most motoring needs. I am delighted that Motorati can now deliver intelligent new car sourcing as a further channel for their new car enquiries."

Craig Stephens, Sales and Marketing Director, Tradermedia Group added: "With VAT going up to 17.5% in January consumers will feel the pinch even more than before. However, by putting in an order for a 2010 model now, motorists continue to benefit from the lower tax rate and still get the new plate at 2009 prices. We hope that by working in partnership with sites like Motorati we will not only be able to help motorists find a new car bargain, but also help dealers get in touch with motorists ready to buy."
